Since we transmit our emotions when interacting with others, I interpret the heart line to identify the relationship requirements system of the owner of the hand. Some people find it favorable to have the ability to understand, clarify and articulate how they like to be treated in relationship. Also, knowing the preferences of others and working to meet their needs is essential for maintaining loving relationships.

Heart-Lines 101

The Rational Romantic

Non-negotiable need: Meaning

True Love: Conversation

Shows love through: Consideration

Gift: Analyzing emotions

The Rational Romantic heart line is overlaid with fuchsia ink (above). It traverses the upper palm and ends beneath the index (Jupiter) finger, but farther down into the palm than the Big Heart (last issue).

The Rational Romantic is also ’other’ oriented. She (or he) is considerate, thought-full, analytical and reasoning with emotions. He or she wants to think through all the possibilities of feelings and then discuss them. She likes to fulfill your requests. To her fighting is painful.

If you live with a Rational Romantic, one of the most beneficial things you can do is 1) converse with her and 2) allow her think, think, think about how she feels, feels, feels. To others this may appear to be ‘overprocessing’. It’s her natural style to ‘think-through.’ Appreciate her for acting upon your wishes – as a result of her ‘processing’.

It may be helpful to affectionately remind her to consider her own passions and to pursue them besides yours. A balanced Romantic continues to honor others’ requests and is also comfortable voicing her own needs, wants and even demands.

One of my life-long male friends has this heart line of reasoning in romance. He is an involved conversationalist with the crowd and his wife in the group. He can become verbally animated on emotional topics. At times I hear him clarifying what he ‘meant’ to say so that he’s understood correctly. He’ll notice how his words affect the feelings of his wife and consider the effects. He regularly writes adoring words on cards to show his love for her.

Cheers to living your emotional style – naturally.

by Kay Packard

Zeus is famous for being the god of the sky and thunder. He caused catastrophic destruction all in the name of his vision, values, principles and his desire for status and turf. All these characteristics are identified with the trigger finger – the index finger – or in palmistry terms – Jupiter. Jupiter and Zeus are the same character. Cronus, Zeus’ father, ruled over all gods until Zeus dethroned him and seized the power for himself. Zeus lived as the mightiest of all.

Like Zeus, authority figures demonstrate high, moral and righteous characteristics as well as self serving, violating, and compromising characteristics. Power equals fulfilled ideals. Influential people, acting positively, empower others to be powerful.

The trigger finger is named as such because it is used to pull the trigger on the squirt gun or the AK-47 Kalashnikov automatic riffle. It’s used to get things started, to get people to look in a favored direction or to act in a particular way.

Think about what your Jupiter finger does and why. When the index finger is raised to your lips, people usually quiet down. When we want money, we use it to press the buttons at the ATM. It can also set off a chain reaction beyond our minds’ comprehension.

Your Jupiter finger and hands provide evidence as to how you wield your persuasion skills. Look at your index finger. Is it ‘healthy’ looking, tilted, leaning, wide, thin, long, short or even missing? Are parts of it damaged? All of this has significance and can be interpreted by a reputable Hand Analyst. The display of the finger doesn’t make a person better or worse, right or wrong. It simply shows the individuals’ inclination for personal expression of leadership, influence, command, and vision. Is that level of inclination serving positively or negatively?

Long range visioning is associated with the sky god. What you do with your visions relates to your belief in possibilities, the choices you make and the aim of your goals. Dreams and ideals drive action toward accomplishment. The high achiever is good with opposition because she keeps her eye on the prize. A high achiever plays with fear of success and the fear of being tested. She may go through stages of indecisiveness and procrastination. But her ideals, dreams, visions, and determination help get her back on track; re-kindling the ambition. The master puts feelings of inadequacy, intimidation, and numbness to work for herself.

How do you feel about power? What does it mean to you? Where do you witness authority in your life? On the power path many toggle between being a bully on one side and victim on the other. The bully’s approach is to crush everything in sight while on their happy path to authority and dictatorship. The victim’s approach is to hide behind “poor me” “I don’t know how” “I can’t”. If you’re experiencing either of these extremes it’s definitely time to look at your own personal power and to fool around with it. There is a happy medium. Like the volume control on your home stereo, you’re learning how to get it to the right setting for you. Are you delegating your power? If so how? Just observe how you may be giving away or getting in the way of your own power.

One of the many life lessons that are revealed in the finger tip patterns is feelings of powerlessness. The person with this lesson has signed up to discover her personal authority and to trust it. They must learn this lesson through feeling like they have zero power. This can be zero power in the home with the family or in the job/career or both. I often hear “But I can’t live my purpose (be happy) because of my responsibilities and commitments to the family (or job)…which, oh by the way, I didn’t have a say in.”

Steps for taking control

1) Notice where you’ve handed over your power
2) Get a clear perspective
3) Make a new choice for yourself

The result? Balance. Balance between self (e.g. standing up for the self, your feelings, your personal wants and desires) and the ‘other’ (e.g. family, career, community and government). Someone else’s plan or goals may conflict with yours. Getting into balance may require polishing up on your confrontation skills.

Who is the primary authority in your life? Does your command come from inside or outside? How do you manage your own emotions? If the skeptic is coming out to respond to or judge this information, all the more reason for you to take a look at how you’re allowing (or not) your passions and dreams to surface. Experiment with your trigger finger by creating your boundaries, standing your ground and living your passions. Stop letting others hijack your dreams.

It is perfectly natural to make mistakes along the way. Remember, we’re all moving along the path from student to master! At Life University, it’s required to do too much and too little, before we get to ‘just right’.

“Without heroes, we are all plain people, and don’t know how far we can go” said Bernard Malamud. Who are the hero’s and great leaders you look upon? And where is your ‘inner hero’? What leadership style do you value most? Is Tiger Woods a leader in golf because golf is his passion, because he enjoys competition, status, money and/or because of his father’s dream? It seems Mahatma Gandhi was driven by purpose and vision for harmony. Attributes you see in your hero are aspects you possess as well. How you develop and use your leadership skills is your choice. You may not need to be the Lord of the Sky, but you will be more fulfilled living in your authority, consciously choosing your system of influence and empowerment within and without. How are you wielding your Jupiter finger? Take a look and let me know.

What does the word “healing” mean to you? The Webster’s dictionary describes healing: ‘to make sound or whole; to restore to health; mend; to patch up; to restore to original purity or integrity’.

Healers facilitate and inspire others to function from a higher level. We are all healers in our own way at one time or another…and when we choose to be. Most of us can cite examples where we’ve been stimulated to be and feel better mentally, physically and/or spiritually because of something someone did, said or how they listened.

In the hands are various markers which identify their owners as a “healer”. Doctors, nurses, veterinarians, chiropractors, psychotherapists, and dentists are mainstream healers. Examples of alternative healers are massage therapists, Reiki masters, cranial sacral therapists, herbalogists, acupuncturists, ministers and astrologers. Hairstylists, manicurists, teachers, musicians, photographers, chefs and jewelry makers may also qualify as healers. However, not all “healers” by profession have healer-markers in their hands. Likewise, some who have never considered healing as life work may have healer markings in their hands.

Most healer markers located on the hands can appear and disappear over time. Skilled palmists can help decipher and explain these markers. When the markers appear, it is an announcement that this individual has ‘signed up’ to connect with others in a deeper and more meaningful way. The indicators in the hands are calling out to the owner of the hands saying “it’s time to see your life-work with a new perspective.”

When a marker is seen in the hands the owner is being summoned to become available to facilitate others toward wholeness and well-being. The ‘gifted healer’ marking is one of these indicators. On one or both hands there may be 5-10 short vertical lines (stripes) etched into the top of the palm just under the pinkie finger. The owner of this mark has an unusual self awareness that others unconsciously (or consciously) recognize. Others are often drawn to this person for listening and support. People generally feel better after being with the ‘gifted healer’ because, in a sense, they become transformed. The key for the owner of the stripes is that they need to be using their abilities and talents as a profession, full time, earning income for their gift. If they don’t they usually suffer from dead end relationships or blocked intimacy in existing relationships. The skills required are to TRUST the SELF – to respond to their knowingness – or intuition. This person will be regularly confronted with lessons to learn to trust their inner guidance system. Well, truth is, we all need to do that, but the ‘gifted healer’ has ‘signed up’ to offer to inspire others and to practice listening and trusting.

Another healer marker on the hand is indicated by the head line starting an inch or so below the index finger on the inside of the palm and is drawn downward toward the middle of the palm then curves down to the lower center part of the palm, near the wrist. This person works in the deepest part of their emotions. He or she is able to support others who are also moving in and out of the abyss. Hospice workers utilize this symbol through their service by connecting individuals with emotions related to sadness and loss. If the owner of this line is unaware of their calling they might find him or herself in and out of depressive states of being without understanding why. A benefit of sitting with these deep and sometimes disturbing emotions is the acquired ability to help others who also struggle in this arena.

One other type of healer-marker on the hand is having a finger print in the shape of a whorl on both pinkies or the left pinkie only. A whorl print looks like the rings circling the core of a cut down tree. The skills required here are to communicate openly and completely in relationship. If in partnership, he or she must communicate fully and appropriately to their partner. Speaking the truth promotes valuable communication in relationship and thus advances intimacy – characterizing one’s deepest nature. Intimacy allows and inspires a whole relationship with others and oneself. One must talk about their feelings and express what does or doesn’t work for them. This can also be associated with appropriate surrender – not too much, not too little – just right- like Goldilocks.

In all cases, a healer must listen – to his or her inner self and to the other – and then follow their intuitive guidance. As one learns to communicate with clarity, from their ‘truth’, he or she will find more opportunities for uplifting others. This will also give the person a more complete and whole feeling ‘within’. Voila’- the creative space for healing is greater than before.

Whether you’ve found any of these markers on your hands, or you’re already working as a Healer, any of these skills will contribute to your success: 1) Trust your Self 2) Allow your feelings to surface 3) Communicate your feelings and wants 4) Embrace all lessons with gratitude. All associated growth will help others besides yourself.

Remember, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. It’s not the healer’s job to fix another being. Healers actually help shift the perspective of an individual when s/he is ready and willing. Are you ready, willing and open to practice the skills necessary to encourage others to launch into their higher Being? It could make a difference beyond your wildest dreams.

By Kay Packard

Life is an everlasting experience of trial and error… if we’re lucky. Experience is required at Earth-University! Imagine if there are different schools each of us are attending, as part of our life pilgrimage. They have the school names: Service, Love, Wisdom, and Peace. Could each of us actually be living from a consciousness of one of these four schools? Could the core of our soul be operating from a deeply rooted desire to advance and master one of these schools?

Would you behave differently if you realized that you are attending one of these schools? Would you prepare for exams and drive yourself to succeed to graduate with honors? Would you procrastinate in your studies? Would you operate with the attitude of just getting by?

The print patterns on a person’s finger tips can be read to identify the life-school that individual is attending. In 1985 Richard Unger founded the International Institute of Hand Analysis and he discovered that our fingerprints contain codes which reveal our life school. They are summarized as follows:

Service: This school is designed to develop the ability to be of Service, to ‘choose’ service. This student has a constant desire to help, not control. S/he struggles between obligation and genuine service until appropriate boundaries are set. A boundary is set by knowing when to say, and actually saying “no”. Living outside the boundaries, in a place of excessive duty and obligation leads to resentment. To master the path of Service 1) set boundaries 2) learn to make requests 3) fill your appetite- do for your Self. Key phrase: Service yourself, others, and the planet at your pace.

Love: This school is designed to develop the ability to love the self and others. The person in this school operates from a consciousness of love and connection. Witnessing and experiencing meaningful relationships is a core motivator. The lessons teach about willingness and ability to recognize and express feelings regardless of the expectation of others. To master path of Love 1) identify your emotions, 2) allow and feel your feelings, 3) communicate your feelings appropriately, 4) do 1-3 fully and completely. Key phrase: Accept yourself just as you are.

Wisdom: This school is designed to develop the ability to use what you learn. It teaches participation, not just observation. This person sees the big picture and generally has a broad perspective. In this school one is offered opportunities to practice commitment, to take risks. Sitting on the fence and acting as an ‘expert’ won’t lead to mastery of this school. To master the path of Wisdom, 1) take risks (do one scary thing a day), 2) stop over-thinking. As a master of Wisdom, you can laugh at yourself, put yourself at stake, and experience joy. Key phrase: “Do” with your wisdom.

Peace: This school is designed to develop the ability to feel safe. Seeking a deep sense of peace within the self is the central desire. Life lessons include dealing with responsibilities without creating an endless chain of ‘emergencies’. It’s not uncommon to get to the peace after feeling the panic. In remedial classes you are in the survival mode, struggling and behind on scheduled activities. To master the path of Peace; 1) Engage in life one step at a time, 2) slow down, 3) build a foundation. Masters of Peace get one job done at a time, realize there is time for everything, and live in the natural flow of life. Key phrase: Be alert in your stillness.

Does your soul-self identify with one or more of these life schools? If you ‘knew’ you were in a training program designed to develop certain skills would you participate in life differently?

We are attending Life University to learn, grow, and expand our consciousness. The reason for the life-time of training is to fulfill our life-purpose. Imagine your enrollment in one of these schools and living more fully with purpose. The unique prints on the tips of the fingers and thumb reveal the life purpose of the owner of the hands.

Pretend that before birth we elected to come to this beautiful, mysterious, radical, and colorful planet. When we did, we had a series of boxes to mark before checking in at the gate with our e-ticket. The boxes presented choices of what to experience during our journey on Earth. I don’t know what all the options were to choose from but I bet we all picked

“Lessons”

Yep, you just may have signed up to become scholarly in specific areas at the life-university. At this point are you saying “OK, already; enough learned” or “My lessons are coming at just the right pace” or “Bring it on, I want more”? Perhaps the answer changes at various times of the year, month or day. We’re constantly being exercised and challenged to become well-informed, well-read, well educated and wise on this life-path.

Through hand reading many scenarios of lessons can be revealed. Just like in school, patterns are repeated so we ‘get it’. The call for exposure to the ‘horrendous’ experiences never disappears. After all, we checked the box to develop our least evolved skill. The life-lesson is our tallest hurdle, largest road block, and most obvious blind spot. If we could actually recognize it we’d most likely wish it away– Poof. However, avoiding it does a terrible disservice to you, others, the planet and the Universe.

When analyzed, the hands unveil the life lessons. One of many examples is the lesson of surrender. Perhaps for you intimate relationships with a partner continually confronts your patience, emotions, communication skills, and trust issues. Maybe you’ve surrendered yourself too much in the early stages then found out the match wasn’t made in heaven. Maybe your style is not to trust the other or possibly yourself. Through the relationship experiences (apparent dead ends) you enhance your skills in the relationship department. You’re learning how to communicate and trust in relationship. You’re attaining knowledge to give of yourself appropriately in a balanced way so that the relationship is fulfilling and complete. Because the skill is in process of being mastered, it wouldn’t be uncommon to go through a few partners before getting it right.

Another example of a life lesson is violation. One is violated when their physical, mental, or emotional space is infringed upon and disregarded. To some, the tax collection process is a form of violation. For others, focus is placed on the many new laws taking away our choices. Outrage is a result of feeling transgressed or usurped. If violation were your life lesson, you’d see a trend of feeling violated over the course of your life. What you’re learning is to confront the abuse and stand your ground, and as a result you’re developing rock-solid inner personal power. This power creates a new level of strength at each junction of it’s test.

One more example is apathy. Apathy, indifference, lack of emotion could be associated with a fear of rejection or a feeling of ‘not belonging’. You might say “my style, philosophy, inventions, and/or conceptions, don’t fit in”. Creativity blocks result from this space of numbness. What you’re learning is to be true to your craft as the pioneer. You’re realizing that you belong to YOU! You’re discovering how to put your self ‘out there’ and appreciate yourself as an individual; a truly unique and original somebody.

Lessons REALLY are our FRIENDS! With the right view of and appreciation for the learning opportunities we can quickly transmute them into knowledge, wisdom, confidence, satisfaction and even joy. The result will fuel your life purpose and amplify your passion for living. Whether we’re pretending or not, you’re allowed to have fun at life-university. Chuckling and giggling at our selves is highly recommended!
